The all-new Z-Force 75-7 motor is Zero’s latest in a long line of enhanced thermal efficiency, passively air-cooled, interior permanent magnet AC motors. The 2024 Z-Force 75-7 shares the exterior motor hardware of the DSR/X, the pinnacle of the Zero dual sport line, to shed heat fast but utilizes different internal architecture to maximize power and drastically reduce weight. The result is overall cost savings for an 11kW category killer in the dual sport electric class. The Z-Force 75-7 motor delivers 132 N-m of torque and 45 kW, effortlessly propelling the DS to a top speed of 139 km/h. Pairing Zero’s renowned internal permanent magnet brushless architecture and a passively air-cooled compact design creates class-leading performance and efficiency.

While it may appear that the Zero DS shares the same steel-trellis frame as Zero’s street motorcycles, the similarities end there. Updated to maximize its strength while shedding as much weight as possible, the frame is reinforced for the rigors of any terrain that is thrown at it. The powertrain is perfectly distributed, resulting in a weight-optimized/mass-centralized design. The Zero DS componentry is also situated differently to optimize for adventure by providing a category-leading 24.6 cm of ground clearance. Paired with a coaxial power-pivot swingarm which has also been reinforced to handle greater loads under harsher conditions, the architecture of the bike and Showa’s adventure suspension delivers a nimble and controlled riding experience.
