Developed using M1 MotoGP technology, the 998cc engine features Bosch injectors that deliver a wide spray angle for increased efficiency. Specially designed finger-follower rocker arms and cam lobes give outstanding high rpm performance and this EU5 crossplane engine also features a high efficiency lubrication system for optimum performance.
The R1 is equipped with high-specification 43mm KYB forks featuring laminated type damping valves. Together with the advanced rear shock this suspension system gives you a sensation of being connected directly to the road surface, making the R1 feel as if it is an extension of your body.
The YZF-R1 comes with a radical factory-bike look inspired by the race-winning Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike. The aggressive front cowl and screen give a low frontal area for minimal drag, and the integrated fairing flows seamlessly into the fuel tank sides to give a tight tuck-in position for the most efficient aerodynamics.
