The Ducati Testastretta 11° is a twin-cylinder engine with a dual soul. It is very manageable and smooth at low revs, but with a torque that is always ready and able to unleash all the Ducati character when accelerating. The Testastretta 11° is a liquid-cooled, 4-valve twin-cylinder with desmodromic timing system delivering an output of 111 horsepower. 11° like the valve overlap value, which primarily influences the dimensions of the cylinder head, hence the name Testastretta (which translates into Narrow Head). However, this is an essential parameter for smoothness of operation, which is the main feature of this engine. The valve overlap, in fact, defines the crankshaft rotation interval in which the simultaneous opening of the intake and exhaust valves takes place.
